Do not use the following 

• Pesticides, glues, sealants, paints, thinners, or varnishes​

• Cleaning compounds for bathrooms, appliances, furniture, floors, etc. 

• Bleach, disinfectants, air fresheners, odor eliminators 

• Cosmetics - hair spray, nail polish remover, prefume, etc.

• Ensure the homes heating and air conditioning systems are running in a recirculation mode 

• Keep between 65-80 dgrees

• ​Unless the fire place or wood burning furnace is the main heat source of the home, do not operate

• Close all windows and outside doors at least 12 hours before beginning the test

• If the home has a radon-reduction system, ensure it is operating properly 

• ​The monitor will go on the lowest lived in level, either basement or first floor

• Monitors are to be placed in a room that is used regularly

• Monitors need to be kept away from drafts, high heat, and humidity (exterior walls)

• Please do not touch the monitor!

• Keep the building closed up as much as possible during the entire test

• Do not operate fans, window air units or other machines that bring air in from outside

• Limit operation of small ehaust fan to short periods time (bathrooms or laundries) 

• Do not smoke in the house at least 3 days before your test

• Do not operate or store vechicals in an attached garage 

• Store swimming pool products in the house or attached garage

• Store gasoline, oil, brake fluid, lubricants or solvents in the house or attached garage
